Gull Point State Park
Gull Point State Park is a focal point for camping and enjoying the outdoors in the popular Iowa Great Lakes Region. Gull Point overlooks West Okoboji Lake and offers a variety of lake activities such as swimming, paddling, water-skiing or sail boating.
Gull Point’s beach provides a fine place for young and old to sunbathe and splash in the crystal clear water of West Lake Okoboji. While visiting the park, hike the 1.5 mile self-guided interpretive trail where visitors can learn about the natural and cultural history of the area.
Gull Point also features a beautiful lodge for outdoor gatherings. The Gull Point Lodge was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and is available for large events such as wedding receptions and family reunions.
Lakeside Lab
Lakeside Laboratory offers experiential learning at its finest! Any student preparing for a career in the sciences will find high quality field-based experiences that will give your resume an edge.
Lakeside Lab also features community events such as summer camps, Wild Wednesday hands-on events for all ages, lecture series and weekly coffee and grounds conversations.

Okoboji Yacht Club & Sailing School
The Okoboji Yacht Club has about 500 members and 65 registered sailboats. It hosts five classes of boats, the X, MC, C, Yngling and E boats. Club races are conducted on Saturday and Sunday mornings from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The OYC hosts a variety of social events for sailors and non-sailors. The Friday Nite Socials are a popular gathering time and the club hosts a large yacht club party once a month during June, July and August. Bridge and mahjong groups also meet at the clubhouse on a weekly basis.
The Okoboji Yacht Club Sailing School is an Iowa non-profit that supports personal growth by teaching the skills of sailing to people of all ages. They provide services focused on education with facilities that support that training.
Summer Camps
Wahpeton is home to three popular church camps: Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp, Camp Okoboji and The Lakeshore Center at Okoboji.
The Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp hosts family, youth and day camps as well as retreats. The camp features two large hotel-style buildings as well as several cabins.
Camp Okoboji also offers youth, family and J.O.Y. camps. The facility features several cabin types and can accommodate families and small or large groups of up to 500 persons in the summer and 290 in the winter.
The Lakeshore Center at Okoboji is a year round facility that serves children, youth, and adults. It is an ideal location for family reunions, church retreats, youth group events, choir retreats, church leadership retreats, quilting retreats, summer camp, weddings, baby showers, business meetings, and much more!

Wildlife Viewing
Wahpeton is a nature lover's dream and part of that is the abundance of wildlife in the area.
It's not uncommon to see deer crossing the road any time of day or eagles perching in the trees throughout the village.
