Little Free Library Permit Application
Little Free Library Location Policy: As per Resolution No 16-15
Little Free Libraries may be placed on either public or private property in locations generally safely accessible to the public. Any placement on public property shall require the specific approval of the City Council. Any placement on or near a public right-of-way shall be in a location such that vehicular access to the "Little Free Library" is provided so that a vehicle may be parked entirely off the traveled way while the vehicle's occupants are accessing the library. "Little Free Libraries" shall be placed so that the visibility of the drivers and pedestrians is not impaired. "Little Free Libraries" shall not be placed in locations where snow removal operations are impeded.
Dimensions: "Little Free Libraries" shall have a width and depth not exceeding twenty-six inches (26") each and heigh not exceeding thirty inches (30").
Iowa One Call: Before placing a "Little Free Library" which requires excavation for placement of the mounting support, the owner or steward shall comply with the requirements of the Iowa One Call Program to ascertain the location of underground utilities and to permit safe excavation which does not interfere with existing underground utilities.

Violation of any section of the policy will result in removal of the Little Free Library.
